Our city is in the midst of rewriting the land development code, CodeNEXT, with the promise, among many, of addressing an increasing affordable housing gap. Through The Alley Flat Initiative and other projects, ACDDC has been working on this topic with community partners for over a decade. We want to share with you two articles published today featuring ACDDC and the importance of housing affordability in Austin.
KUT – ACDDC’s Executive Director, Nicole Joslin, and Jake Wegmann, one of our Board Members, were interviewed by Audrey McGlinchy from KUT about ‘missing middle’ housing and how CodeNEXT addresses this important housing type. You can read and hear the interview by clicking here!
Statesman – The Statesman just published our Op-Ed column where we at ACDDC express our hopes for the CodeNEXT process, emphasizing the importance of missing middle housing and affordability. Learn more about it here!
